Introducing Our Mission
The mission of Oregon Charter Academy is to prepare all students for success in a global society through an inclusive, rigorous academic environment where students have daily live interaction with highly qualified teachers and continuous access to the curriculum. Oregon Charter Academy staff partners with families in a transparent, collaborative school environment to support all students in their academic journeys.
We understand that the 21st century world constantly evolves, and the latest approaches and information may soon be outdated. In the face of endless change, we’re determined to give students the tools and career-ready skills they need to succeed. Whether they move on to college, technical school, or step straight into a career path, your child will be prepared to meet and exceed the demands of academic endeavors and future employment alike.
The Four C’s
To equip students for the future, our instructors must go beyond rote learning. Instead, our student body requires foundational skills that will serve them in all areas of life. Oregon Charter Academy calls these skills the Four C’s and makes them central to every aspect of online learning. Our Four C’s are:
Critical thinking: A future-focused education encourages students to develop analytical abilities, become aware of their problem-solving processes, and consume information critically.
Collaboration: A career-centered education requires students to work together in teams, helping them learn how to work with others and accomplish a common goal.
Communication: A successful education pushes students to articulate thoughts and ideas clearly, using a variety of mediums in a range of situations and for many different purposes.
Creativity: An achievement-focused education teaches students to develop new ideas based on existing concepts while discovering how to take responsible risks within realistic limitations.
These principles inform all aspects of our online charter school’s programs, from core mathematics courses to career and technical education (CTE) electives, ensuring students are prepared to address all of life’s professional and personal challenges.
